Sydney Sixers host Hobart Hurricanes in WBBL|12 Match 7 tonight at Drummoyne Oval. It’s the Sixers’ first home game of the season. First ball is at 1:10 PM PKT (7:10 PM local, 1:40 PM IST).
The Sixers arrive on a high. They beat the Heat in a last-ball thriller on Friday, with Ellyse Perry’s 58 setting it up and Sarah Coyte hitting the winning boundary. Perry is playing her 20th summer of top-level cricket and says she still wants to get better. Good luck to every bowler in this league.
The Hurricanes are under pressure early. The defending champions lost their opener to the Stars by 18 runs, after the Stars posted 192/4 (Meg Lanning 71, Annabel Sutherland 57 not out) — Hurricanes’ opening loss to the Stars. Hobart have zero points and can’t afford to go 0-2. Their top order must fire tonight.
Keep an eye on the Sixers’ Alice Capsey. Her calm 21 not out dragged them over the line on Friday. For Hobart, Lizelle Lee is the danger woman at the top (cricket.com.au).
