The BBL 2027 teams are the same 8 franchises that have contested every Big Bash League season. BBL|16 runs from 12 December 2026 to 26 January 2027, and each team plays 10 regular-season matches before the finals. The Perth Scorchers enter as defending champions with a record 6 titles. Notes: the Renegades have made the MCG their primary home, leaving Marvel Stadium (no BBL|16 games there). The Stars remain the only franchise yet to win a title. Moises Henriques retired in July 2026, so the Sixers will name a new captain. New coaches this season: Matthew Mott (Sixers), Andrew Flintoff (Thunder), Luke Ronchi (Renegades), Cameron White (Stars) and James Hopes (Heat).
