Playing Style
Carey is a neat left-handed batter who opens or bats in the top three. He is not a slogger — his game is built on timing, placement and smart running. Behind the stumps he is among the best in the world, sharp standing up and tidy standing back.
BBL Career
Carey has been with the Strikers for years and is one of their most consistent performers. His keeping to Adelaide’s spinners, especially Lloyd Pope’s leg spin, is a key part of the team’s bowling plans.
What He Brings to BBL 2027
With Ben Stokes joining the squad, Carey forms part of a strong top order alongside captain Matt Short. His experience and calm under pressure will be vital in close games — and his keeping could win Adelaide matches on its own.
